For the past 23 years, Chef Gonzalo has honed his craft and continued to push himself creatively through the art of pastry.
He worked as Pastry Chef and Assistant Manager at a retail French bakery in Camarillo, CA for almost 15 years developing techniques and taking everything from chocolate making to cake decorating classes. From there, he moved on to manage the Whole Foods Bakery in Santa Barbara, CA for an additional 8 years before moving to San Luis Obispo to start SLO Delicious Bake Shop with his friend Michael.
His passion for making people happy through the desserts he creates is a driving force behind his career. He’s always willing to chat about a recipe, share a technique, or offer his friendly opinion on what things pair well together. He truly loves his work and it shows in everything he creates.
